Privacy policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information.

Effective date: set at publication · This version: September 2026

Summary

Encrypted

Your data is encrypted end to end.

Never shared by us

We never send your information to USCIS or anyone else — you decide when and how to file.

Deletable

You can delete your account and your data at any time.

Confidential by law

For VAWA, T visa, and U visa cases, federal law — 8 U.S.C. § 1367 — also prohibits the government from disclosing your case.

01

What we collect

The answers you give while preparing your petition, the documents you upload, and your account details. That is the point of the product: your petition is built from what you tell us.

Case information. The answers you type into the eligibility check and the petition interview — about you, your family, your history, and your situation — and the documents and photos you upload as evidence. Immigration cases are personal by nature, so this can include sensitive information: nationality and status, family relationships, and in humanitarian cases, information about what happened to you.

Account information. Your name, email address, language preference, and the records of what you have purchased. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.

Technical information. When you visit, we receive standard technical data: your device and browser type, the pages you view, and — if you arrived from an ad or a link — the campaign parameters that brought you here. If you start the free check without an account, your progress is saved in your own browser’s storage, on your device.

02

How we use it

To build your petition: filling the official forms, generating your document checklist, drafting your cover letter, and checking your packet for completeness.

We use your case information to do the work you came for: identifying the petition that fits, filling the current official USCIS forms from your answers, generating your document checklist, sorting your evidence into a numbered exhibit index, drafting your cover letter, and checking every field, signature, and document for completeness.

We use your account information to run your account, take payments, and answer you when you ask for help. We use technical information to keep the service working, measure what is used, and improve it.

We do not use your case to advertise to you, and we do not build advertising profiles from your petition.

03

How the AI works with your data

The AI does the repetitive work of building your petition, and it works only on your case.

The software’s AI reads your answers and your documents to do the jobs described above: filling forms, checking consistency, drafting your cover letter, and answering your questions in the check. Some of this processing runs through specialized AI service providers acting on our behalf, under contract, solely to provide the service — not to train their models on your case.

The AI’s output is filled forms, a cover letter, and an assembled and checked packet, not advice: it fills and checks, it does not give legal advice, and no result is guaranteed.

04

What we share — and what we never share

We never send your information to USCIS or anyone else — you decide when and how to file.

Your petition goes to the government when you file it — by you, or by an independent licensed attorney you choose. We never send your case to USCIS, and we never sell your personal information.

We share information only with service providers that make the product work, acting on our behalf under contract: hosting and content delivery, payment processing, analytics, and the AI providers described above. Each receives only what its job requires.

Like every company, we may be required to respond to valid legal process, and if the business is ever reorganized or sold, your information would remain protected under this policy. For VAWA, T visa, and U visa cases, federal law — 8 U.S.C. § 1367 — separately prohibits the government from disclosing information about your case.

05

How your data is protected

Your data is encrypted end to end.

Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside the company is limited to the people and systems that need it to serve you, and support staff answer product questions — they do not browse cases.

No system can promise perfect security. We keep your data encrypted, limit access to the people and systems that need it, and never send your case anywhere without your action.

06

Your rights, and deleting your data

You can delete your account and your data at any time.

At any time, you can see the information in your account, correct it, download your own petition materials, or delete your account and your data. Deletion means deletion: your case information is removed from our systems, with residual copies purged from backups on a short, fixed schedule.

You will never be charged more, served worse, or treated differently for exercising any privacy right.

07

Cookies and analytics

We measure how the site is used so we can improve it — with standard tools, listed here by name.

This site uses Google Analytics to understand page-level usage on each of our market domains, and PostHog, hosted in the United States, to understand how the product itself is used. If you arrive from an ad, standard attribution parameters tell us which campaign brought you — so we know what worked, not who you are.

The free check also uses your browser’s own storage to save your progress on your device, so you can leave and come back. That data sits with you, not with us, until you create an account.

You can limit cookies in your browser settings at any time; the petition tools work without marketing cookies.

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for responding to it, so this site’s practices are as this policy describes regardless of that signal — which is also why we keep the practices themselves conservative.

08

Children

Some petitions concern children. Their information deserves extra care, and gets it.

welcomeUSA is a service for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.

Some cases — a green card for a child, special immigrant juvenile status, citizenship for children — necessarily contain a child’s information. That information is provided by the responsible adult preparing the case, is used only to prepare that case, and carries every protection in this policy.

09

International transfers

People use welcomeUSA from many countries. Their data is handled the same way, wherever they are.

welcomeUSA serves people in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, in the United States and abroad. Your information is processed and stored primarily in the United States, where our systems and providers operate. Wherever you use the service from, the promises in this policy apply to you.

10

U.S. state privacy rights

If your state grants specific privacy rights, you have them here too.

California and a growing list of states grant residents specific rights: to know what personal information is collected, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for asking. We honor these rights for everyone, not only where a statute requires it — the controls in your account and the contact route below are how you exercise them.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your case for cross-context behavioral advertising.

11

How long we keep information

As long as you keep your account — and your deletion, when you choose it, is honored.

Your case and account information stays for as long as your account is open, so your petition remains yours to return to. When you delete your account, deletion follows the terms in section 06. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires; technical logs and analytics are kept only as long as they are useful for running the service.

12

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.

If we change this policy, the new version appears here with a new effective date, and a material change is announced before it takes effect. No change will quietly weaken the four promises at the top of this page.

This policy is part of your agreement with welcomeUSA, together with the consumer terms — the two documents are read together.

Questions about your data, or a request under any of these rights? See how to reach us, and the legal notice for what welcomeUSA is and is not.
